and fast track lanes are moving nicely. >> new this morning, a just-released report says san francisco muni overtime costs are over budget, and abc7 news reporter joins us live from the station with an employee who took an unbelievable amount in overtime. >> that is right. the "san francisco chronicle" is reporting that mull -- multiple muni employees made mother than $100,000 in overtime. the average worker, working 40 hours a week works about 2,000 hour as year. some clocked in 4,000 hours in a year. one mechanic made an extra $164,000 for clocking in 2,000 hours of overtime. the chief says the mechanic was paid for overnight work, on a new train control system when trains did not run. ten supervisors made more than $100,000 in overtime pay alone for the 2011 and 1212 fiscal year. one worked street corners keeping an eye on buss and trains and helping out in emergencies, and this supervisor clocked the most hours with 2,262 hours of overtime, earning an extra $147,000 on top of salary. we have a call in for a response to the shocking numbers and we do expect to have that coming up on abc7

it is astonishing, the san francisco chronicle is reporting that the city's overtime payment went $18 million over budget for the 2011-2012 fiscal year of 25 top overtime earners who work for the city, 22 worked for muni. ten supervisors made more than $100,000 in overtime. bringing their pay to more than $200,000 for the year so they worked 80 hour work weeks every single week of the year. we have a breakdown of the pay for a mechanic whose base salary was $106,000. he put in for 1,954 hours of over time. an average person worked 2,000 a year so the mechanic got paid for work 4,000 hours in one year. at $83.85 an hour he made $163,842 in overtime. with add-ons he made more than $293,000 for the year. this happened during the first year of lee's mayor, and san francisco police and fire departments overpaid in overtime and those departments along with muni spent $154 million for that fiscal year in overtime. >> thank you. oakland officials will make a major announcement declaring a local state of emergency to seek outside help over a wave of violence with a recent attack involving a drive-by shooti

night. breaking into her san francisco home. assaulting and attempting to rape her. police say 25-year-old jovan jones was eventually tracked down. but as kron four's philippe djegal reports. that may not have happened so quickly if not for a good samaratan getting involved. >> reporter: this is where the san francisco police department says. a 26-year-old woman was assaulted saturday night. alta street. a small road on telegraph hill with no outlets. at night. the woman was entering her home. when 25-year-old jovan jones of marin city snuck up on her. forced his way into the home and threw the woman to the floor. police say he demanded money and some her stuff. then, threatened to kill her and assaulted her. police say someone outside of the home saw what was happening. and called 9-11. when police arrived. investigators say jones jumped off the balcony and ran off. less than an hour and a half later. with help of a california highway patrol helicopter. police tracked jones down a few blocks away from the victim's home on green street. jones was booked into san francisco county jail o

news coming in from san francisco, police are investigating a deadly shooting which happened at 1:00 a.m. not far from geneva -- geneva avenue. alex, i know you spoke to the mother of the victim, what did she say? >> reporter: she is earning anybody to come forward and help police and at this point they have a very vague description on that who opened fire on the two. the man killed in the shooting was 43-year-old daniel cologne a father to one son, a man who grew up in the air. relatives said the two men are were walking home from a nearby bar and he was shot in the upper body and police say his injuries are considered non- life threatening. the most man who died is worried about the little boy who lost his father in the shooting. >> he has a beautiful daniel junior who loves his dad very much. that is going to be very hard for him to go on without his dad. it is very heartbreaking for us. i still don't believe it. >> reporter: police say the shooter in this case ran away from the scene. he is described as the white or -- as white or hispanic. >> reporter: if you know anything, but a
this morning in san francisco and a freeze warning is set to kick in at the same time for most of the bay area. we want to check in now with mark tamayo who's keeping a close eye on the cold temperatures. there's no cloud cover tonight, that's the problem. >> no cloud cover. right now we're talking about frost advisories and freeze warnings for the fourth night in a row. that frost advisory in place for san francisco set to begin at 2:00 tomorrow morning to reflect temperatures in the mid- 30s. for a good portion of the bay area we have freeze warnings. look at that temperature range, 18. 18 to 30 degrees first thing tomorrow morning. you can see for all the areas shaded in purple. here is a look at some of the current numbers for the 10:00 hour. san francisco in the mid-40s. oakland at 43 degrees. walnut creek 30 degrees right now. santa rosa 34. we have a bunch of other temperature sensors that deployed across the region and very cold numbers currently 31 degrees. petaluma in the current 30s. pleasanton 34 and in the south bay for san jose, san jose state currently 32. some lower 30s out tow

voluntarily met with san francisco police before he boarded a mid afternoon flight to atlanta. police say the sexual allegation involves crabtree inside a san francisco hotel early sunday morning. the day after the 49ers beat the packers. crabtree was not detained or arrested. he's willing to meet with police if they have additional questions for him. this is what his lawyer released in a statement from earlier today. on friday, january 18, 2013, michael voluntarily met with the san francisco police department and provided a statement. michael fully cooperated with the inspectors and will continue to do so throughout the investigation. out of respect and integrity for the process, we have no further comment at this time. as you mentioned, chris, once again michael crabtree has not spoken to reporters. at this point the 49ers have not made him available to talk to reporters. if that was the case, most likely he would be expected to talk football. later in sports, we'll preview the nfc championship game. we'll have a live report from atlanta. >> hard not to get distracted. >>> the hostage c

opened fire in san francisco's glenn park neighborhood. police were called to a home on alameda boulevard near silver avenue around 10:00 last night. when they arrived, they found an 80-year-old woman and 50- year-old man with gunshot wounds. both victims were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening wounds. anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call san francisco police. >>> a hayward police dog is being praised tonight for sniffing out a key piece of evidence in a suspected gang shooting. the hayward police department tweeted this picture last night of canine officer nikki finding a handgun near some bushes. police say the gun was found a few hours after a gang shooting nearby. the tweet included a line reading, quote, you can't hide from the nose. >>> in san jose, fire crews are on the scene right now of a two- alarm house fire. the fire at a home on gara road near mount pleasant road started about two hours ago, producing a plume of thick, black smoke you can see in the picture could be seen for miles. a viewer posted this photo on our facebook page. six people man
